Funding for Troopers Hill and Dundridge Park

Home / News / News from Bristol East / Funding for Troopers Hill and Dundridge Park

28 January 2016
I was delighted to hear that the Friends of Troopers Hill and Friends of Dundridge Park groups have been successful in securing a total of £100,000 in funding from the SITA Trust. This money will be combined with funding from St George Neighbourhood Partnership to improve the basic and ageing play areas in both parks.

From speaking to local residents I know how much this funding means for families in the area and, as a result, provided a letter of support to go with the grant applications. I understand that similar letters were provided by Avon & Somerset Constabulary and Bristol City Council.

The improvements to the play areas are scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. I know that Friends of Troopers Hill are still waiting for the outcome of its grant application for an activity trail for 5 to 11 year olds. I really hope their application is also successful, so that our local parks have facilities for children of all ages.

You can read the news story about this on the St George Neighbourhood Partnership website here.
